Product Overview
The integrated charge-discharge gun is a portable EV charger built around one idea: the same hand-held unit that tops up a GB/T vehicle can also send energy back out of its battery. One gun, one cable, one wall socket — 3.5 kW going in, or the same hardware working in reverse to run tools and appliances from the car. Start, stop and live readings come from a phone over Bluetooth, or from plug and charge if you would rather not use an app at all. What makes it a bidirectional EV charger rather than a one-way cable is the way the electronics handle both directions. In V2L mode the vehicle battery feeds a load through the discharge strip; in V2G mode the same path pushes energy back to a site supply where the installation and the vehicle both allow it. The vehicle has to support the mode — the gun supplies the interface, the metering and the protection, not the energy itself.
Safety & Protection
- Seven protections on one board. Overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, leakage current, overheating, grounding and surge protection sit in the same control path, so a fault in any direction ends the session instead of passing it on to the vehicle or to whatever is plugged in.
- Leakage and grounding are the ones that matter outdoors. The protective earth is part of the session check, and an ungrounded generator or a socket with a doubtful earth is the wrong place for a discharge job.
- Overheating protection earns its keep in summer. A gun left in direct sun or in a closed boot during a long session will heat up; the unit ends the session rather than letting the board cook.
- Surge and overvoltage cover untidy supplies. Where the socket shares a circuit with pumps, welders or air-conditioning start-up, the voltage window absorbs normal fluctuation — it is a wide window, not an unlimited one.
- What the protections do not cover. A damaged appliance, a crushed cable or a vehicle with its own fault sits outside the charging path; check cables and loads before each job rather than relying on the board to catch them.
- Certification and batch checks. This model is offered with CE certification — ask your contact for the certificate that matches the configuration you order and confirm it against your market's requirements. Every unit is produced by the ev charger factory that builds this model and inspected before it ships.
Charging and Discharging Sequence
- Check the socket before you connect anything. The gun expects a 16 A earthed wall socket wired L + N + PE and works within 220 VAC ± 20% at 50 Hz, so keep extension leads and travel adapters off the supply side — they add resistance exactly where the protection circuit is watching.
- Seat the gun in the vehicle inlet. Push the GB/T connector in until it latches, then check the cable is not under tension. A connector that is only half home is the most common reason a session refuses to start.
- Charge. On a compatible vehicle the session starts on plug and charge; otherwise pair the app and start it there. A live reading on the screen confirms the session is running, and the app shows the same values on the phone.
- Turn the direction around for discharge. Plug the supply plug into the socket on the discharge strip, connect the gun to the vehicle and start the discharge; the unit recognises the request and the bidirectional EV charger begins feeding the strip. Run lights, a fridge, a laptop or hand tools from it, keeping the total draw inside what the vehicle allows.
- Stop cleanly and pack up. End the session in the app or at the vehicle before unplugging, pull the connector out square rather than at an angle, then coil the cable loosely and stow the gun dry.
- The app is a convenience, not a requirement. Pair once over Bluetooth and the phone becomes the control surface — start and stop, watch the session, and read what the vehicle is doing without crouching down to the unit. The screen keeps the same information visible for anyone who prefers not to open a phone, and plug and charge carries a session on its own when the app is not paired. If your market's listing needs the exact panel and indicator wording, ask us and we will check it with the ev charger factory against the batch you receive. Because this is a portable EV charging station rather than a fixed wallbox, storage is part of the routine: coil the cable loosely instead of around your elbow, unplug by the body and never by the cable, wipe the housing with a dry cloth, and keep the connector clear of standing water and grit between jobs. Before travel, check the plug standard. Interchangeable adapter plugs for European and British outlets are part of the wider set, so confirm which adapters are included for your market — a gun that matches the car but not the wall is no help at the destination.
Discharge Load & Runtime
- Treat 3.5 kW as a budget, not a promise. Rated output is 3.5 kW at 16 A on a 220 VAC supply, and that figure is the ceiling for everything plugged into the discharge strip at once. The vehicle can set a lower ceiling of its own, so the smaller of the two is what you actually get.
- Add up the simple loads first. A 1.5 kW kettle, a 700 W fridge, three LED lamps and a laptop charger come to roughly 2.5 kW and fit; a second heating appliance on top usually will not. Anything with a heating element is the fastest way to spend the budget.
- Give motors and compressors room to start. A fridge, a circular saw or an air compressor pulls three to seven times its running current for a second or two at start-up. Bring the largest motor on first, let it settle, then add the rest — and never start two of them at the same moment.
- Work out runtime from the vehicle, not the gun. No fixed hour figure applies, because the session ends when the vehicle reaches its own discharge cut-off. Usable energy divided by load is the estimate: 10 kWh released from the pack runs about 5 hours at 2 kW, or about 2.8 hours at 3.5 kW.
- Agree how much of the battery you will spend. Most fleets and households keep a reserve for the return trip. Set the floor in advance, for example stopping discharge at 40% state of charge, and watch the reading in the app as the session goes on.
- Run the real load set once before it matters. A bench test with a cool box proves very little; take the portable EV charger through the kettle, lights and tools you will actually use, in the order you will use them, and note the values the unit reports.
- Plan the switching order so the protection never has to act. This bidirectional EV charger ends a session rather than ride out an overload, and a cut-out halfway through a job is worse than switching the heater off before the compressor starts.
Typical Applications
- Roadside and mobile service call-outs. A technician carries one portable EV charger instead of a wallbox: top up a customer's GB/T vehicle from a 16 A socket on site, then run a laptop and a work light from the same unit.
- Camping, motorhomes and outdoor events. Once the car is parked, the discharge side runs lighting, a cool box or a small projector. Check the appliance's start-up draw first, since motors and compressors pull more in their first second than they do while running.
- Home power during an outage. A bidirectional EV charger turns a charged car into a temporary supply for a fridge, the router and a few lamps, giving a household time to ride out a grid interruption without starting a generator.
- Worksites, market stalls and catering pitches. Hand tools, a till, scales or a small coffee machine, with the caveat that anything with a heating element should be totalled against the rated output before it goes on the strip.
- Fleet yards and car-sharing depots. A portable EV charging station between trips, without trenching cable or waiting for a fixed installation, and it moves with the vehicles when the yard layout changes.
- Dealers, rental counters and test-drive fleets. Hand a customer a way to charge at home or on the road, and keep the unit in the car as an emergency top-up for the next driver.

Ordering and Delivery
- Send the vehicle list and the job. As a portable EV charger supplier we start from the interface and the use case — GB/T vehicles, charging only or charge plus discharge, and the plug standard at the destination — then confirm the configuration in writing before anything is booked.
- Agree quantity and timing. Flexible MOQ & delivery: tell us the volume you want to trial and the date you need it in market, and we will confirm what can be committed to that date.
- Shipping and export. One-stop export service: the same channel handles documentation and consolidates mixed orders, including 60 kW~360 kW DC dual-gun charging stations for commercial operation, 20/30/40/50 kW DC single-gun units for commercial and residential sites, the 7.2 kW / 22 kW PCD050 portable EV charger and 7/11/22 kW AC single-gun chargers.
- Who builds and who checks. The order is placed with the ev charger factory that produces this model; we hold the specification, arrange pre-shipment inspection and stay the contact if anything arrives short or damaged.
- Warranty and after-sales. Warranty terms, spare connectors and the handling route for a faulty unit are confirmed with your order — ask your sales contact for the wording that applies to your market before you commit.
Supply Chain & Delivery Assurance
We are a trading company rather than a manufacturer, and what we put behind every order is the supplier network we work with: we match your specification, certification and target-market requirements to the right partner factory, then consolidate the full order into one shipment so you deal with a single contact from quotation to arrival. That structure also lets us act as your second supplier when you want to reduce dependence on a single source. Sourcing, pre-shipment inspection, OEM and private-label coordination, export documentation and after-sales follow-up all sit with our team.
FAQ
Q1. Which vehicles can use this charge-discharge gun?
The connector is GB/T, so it is built for GB/T vehicles. Charging is straightforward on any compatible GB/T AC vehicle; the discharge side only works if the vehicle itself permits V2L or V2G output and accepts an external load, because that permission comes from the car rather than from the gun. As a portable EV charger it behaves like any other GB/T unit — the reverse direction is the part to check on the vehicle side, so send us the model and year and we will tell you what to look for.
Q2. How much load can I run from the discharge side?
Rated output is 3.5 kW at 16 A, and that is the ceiling rather than a promise: the real limit is whichever is lower between the vehicle's own discharge rating and the appliance in front of you. There is no fixed runtime figure to quote, because a session ends when the vehicle battery reaches its own cut-off point. Add up the appliances first, keep motors and heaters in mind, and test the setup with the load you actually plan to run.
Q3. Can it be used outdoors or in the rain?
IP55 covers the housing and the mated connector, so light rain and dust are not a problem, and the working range runs from -30 °C to 50 °C. It is not built to be immersed, and the discharge strip should stay off wet ground. Used as a portable EV charging station outdoors, the usual rules apply: connectors mated, cable off the ground, and the session stopped before you unplug in a downpour.
Q4. Do I need the app to use it?
No. Plug and charge starts the session on a compatible vehicle, and the app is there for start and stop, monitoring and settings. The screen keeps the live values visible without opening anything, which is useful when the unit is plugged in behind a car in bad weather.
Q5. How is this different from a V2L discharge gun?
A discharge gun only takes energy out of the vehicle; this unit also puts it back in, so one piece of hardware covers charging today and running appliances tomorrow. As a portable EV charger supplier we carry both types, so tell us the vehicle and the job and we will point you to the right one rather than the nearest one.
